The first delienations of African dogs can be found on cave drawings all over South-Africa.

The ancestor of the Ridgeback-( has already become extinct)- was the so called hottentot (Khoikhoi) dog, which was a constant follower of the hottentott African hunters. Attributes which are typical of these people ( keen senses, trickyness, wilyness, personal braveness and high-class intelligence ) have deeply pervaded into our Ridgebacks’ character, which we have to take care of strictly, and for me this is one of the most important aim, to keep these special and personal characters besides their health and appearance.
